PLANNING STRATEGIC FEASIBILITY STUDIES: An Engineer's Perspective

"THE FIRST OF ITS KIND IN SOUTH AFRICA"

Overview:

This programme has been developed with the points below in mind to take South Africa and Africa forward, to bridge gaps, to infuse strategic planning, and market understanding in an engineer’s practice to enable one to work beyond the regular call of specialised engineering practice, and progress in working on masterplans, feasibility studies, due diligence and fatal flaw analysis.

- A major gap in demographics with skilled labour

- Knowledge transfer and talent management

- Build skills and IP locally in South Africa

- Public and private collaboration

- Free trade agreements in an increasingly globalized knowledge based economy

- Industrial Revolution 4.0

The approach will include power point presentations, engagement and discussion among all participants (learners and instructors) to ingrain collaborative thinking and team work, and real-life case studies. The lecture notes and some case studies will be included in course materials and be given to delegates before and or during registration. Some extra handouts and spreadsheet models will be shared during the course.
